About

Lisa

I graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.  I completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) Course in 2003 which trained me in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine for animals. Since then integrative veterinary medicine has been my passion. I have learned other integrative therapies such as Bowen Technique for animals, NAET (Nambudripad allergy elimination technique) and Reiki. I have continued my education in Chinese Medicine through the Chi Institute and the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies by taking courses in Chinese Herbal Medicine.

My practice is based on loving kindness and compassion with an emphasis on the human animal bond. The integration of Chinese and Western Medicine, Nutrition, Acupuncture and Herbal Therapy is used to heal my patients. I believe in preventative medicine for animals with proper nutrition and exercise as the basis for optimal health. I enjoy educating animal lovers on a wide range of topics to help them maintain healthy animal companions in mind, body, and spirit.

I am the president of the Washington State Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. I am also involved with hosting Spirits in Transition seminars which provide guidance on how to care for animals from home when diagnosed with a terminal illness. Outside of veterinary practice I lead an Adopt-A-Street program helping to beautify my neighborhood in Seattle.
